Envision
Vision, Mission, & Values
There’s no single definition for these terms. Co-creation of a strategy that creates cross-organizational ownership, alignment, and a shared sense of purpose is what’s most important. A Gallup study found only 23% of employees strongly agree they can link their roles to the organization’s overarching strategy.
Get people together to validate and align on:
- Vision that serves your team when they ask themselves, “Does this get us to our shared goal?”
- Mission that helps to answer, “Is this the work we do?”
- Values that align your team when they ask, “Is this who we are?”
This stage sets up the critical guideposts to empower teams, foster accountability, and lays the roadwork to achieve tangible goals together. When this is clear, the entire organization aligns around a cohesive identity and direction.
Sometimes people aren’t comfortable speaking up in large meeting settings, so I like to start by engaging in individual interviews and small group brainstorming. After understanding the key themes and pain points, I’ll design and facilitate workshops that produce results. A group of strong leaders can be a challenge to manage, and the right goals, activities, and compassionate facilitation can make all the difference.
Leadership Excellence
And speaking of strong leaders! A cohesive and empowered leadership team is the grease that enables the ongoing work of high-performing teams. Driving at all levels, great leaders need to cultivate a positive and productive work environment, nurture the talents of their team members, and promote collaboration and innovation.
With years of experience in their seat, I can coach effective ways of being open and building trust, while committing to clear decisions and engaging through the rough spots.
Align
Goals, Initiatives, & Plans
If your vision, mission, and values are solid, I can help you break down your next areas of focus for impact. This is where we really get going, and perhaps my favorite part of partnering with your team.
Whether you utilize Strategic Themes & Rocks, Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), or a Balanced Scorecard and Strategy Map, I’ve used them all. I recommend we use a framework that works for your team. What’s most important is to know that the Strategy Engine has no fuel until your goals, initiatives, and responsibilities are aligned, from top-to-bottom and side-to-side.
The essential resources of your organization’s time, energy, and attention are not free. Focus + Planning is a strategic advantage that consistently gets you moving toward what matters most.
I can step in to get your teams in motion with fractional roles such as project and program management, portfolio creation and prioritization, and agile delivery and coaching.
“People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.”

Businesses waste between 32-41% of their software budget on features or platforms they don’t need or use.

Technology Roadmaps
Technology is not the answer—but it is the enabler. Across your technology landscape, I can help to identify underlying issues and vital business needs first. Then, we can build the right technology investment strategy and roadmaps to build the right features and integrate the best solutions.
The most effective, motion-biased technology roadmaps are strategically driven and focused. I can help you analyze and make decisions on the technology tradeoffs, as there are always far more demands than time or resources to get everything done.
This is where my experience really shines. I’ve worked hands-on or or directed every role on technology teams from initial discovery and analysis through delivery and support. There isn’t a methodology I haven’t experienced, improved, or crafted through building culture-specific hybrids to meet the unique needs of organizations along the way.

Business Operations
Whether your processes seem “good enough” (disparate apps and spreadsheets) or are trending toward “outgrown” (procedures devolving into burdens), I’ll help you analyze bottlenecks, trends, and patterns. This approach digs in to ensure you make proactive decisions while minimizing risk.
Process and operational roles such as operating model design, business and process analysis, and case management excellence are at the core of my experience.
Only 1% of firms have their business processes sufficiently under control to fully realize the financial benefits of their digital transformation initiatives.

The failure of 72% of transformations can be attributed to inadequate management support (33%) and employee resistance (39%).

Change Management
When effectively executed, five approaches to managing complex change can enhance the chances of achieving a successful outcome by 2.5 times! These approaches are care, lead, empower, inspire, collaborate. This means influencing and uniting teams with a clear vision while navigating the complex dynamics of change.
Incorporating the five approaches into an effective organizational motion-building approach is something I’ve done for Fortune 500 companies and smaller start-ups. Defining success, assessing impacts to teams and stakeholders, creating engaging and clear messaging, and outlining actionable timelines takes more than just filling out a change management plan.
Clarity & Ways-of-Working
Striving for clarity throughout your organization and building what I call “All-Ways Communication”–communicating in All Ways, All the Time–is a continuous process.
Clarity serves to support teams geared-up to build momentum and resilience through future distractions, issues, and scope creep. Organizations that consistently embrace and improve their working rhythms are the ones that achieve more than was thought possible! I’ll work with you to build stories for cascading alignment supported by rhythms and simplicity in your processes.
Well implemented rhythms effect everything that you do, whether it’s running meetings, solving problems, or analyzing critical data for decision-making.
Let’s guide your organization in the right direction, together.
Partnering with your teams and radiating collaborative techniques, I bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership experience, and coaching acumen. I create solutions with a perfect balance between building the story and getting things done.
